TVs Panasonic in 2016

This year, Panasonic is expanding its line of 4K TVs that can handle HDR format. The flagship of the lineup is DX900 with the certificate "UHD Premium", and the entry-DX800 has a unique design. The company will continue to use Firefox OS system for Smart TV.

Technical parameters lineup

Panasonic has released its first OLED TV at the end of last year, but in spite of it is still too early to expect an extension lineup OLED models. Model of the last year will be carried over to the lineup in 2016.

In their LED models of Panasonic company will focus on improving image quality through 4K and HDR. To this end, the company will be released even your UHD Blu-Ray player to complement the new TVs. UHD Blu-Ray player will be able to apply to the TV input signal to 4K, HDR, an expanded color gamut, and better sound.

Panasonic will mainly deliver UHD TVs, and some of them will be capable of processing HDR. But, as in the case of other manufacturers, we can not model all equally well in HDR video display format. Only DX900 will be the flagship hardware (LED backlight with local dimming) to fully implement the HDR. HDR widens dynamic range, allowing you to see the details, not only in the brightest scenes, but also the darkest. This allows for more detail see the plot.

Panasonic claims that it will be able to display HDR DX900 through 512 local dimming zones. This model has more certified "UHD Premium". There will also be support for HDR video streaming from Netflix and Amazon Video services. To support these services should be HEVC decoder. Support VP9 decoder as will, which is necessary for receiving streaming video from YouTube as 4K.

Panasonic has developed a new processor HCX + (Hollywood Cinema eXperience plus), which ensures accurate color reproduction. The new processor is the flagship in the DX900. Models DX800, DX780, DX750 have a smaller version of the HCX processor.

Several new Panasonic 2016 TV models are able to reproduce, the more colors than conventional TVs due to the extended color gamut beyond Rec.709. Panasonic did not specify how many of the DCI-P3 (used in digital cinema) color gamut will, as stated by other manufacturers. But if the model is the DX900 "UHD Premium", it should be minimally 90% of the DCI-P3.

Another area of development this year is the system Firefox OS. Panasonic is still the only manufacturer that supports the Mozilla effort to build an operating system for TVs. Panasonic believes that the new simple interface to please users. It is the operating system Smart TV functionality is implemented.

Panasonic 2016 TVs Year later this year will be updated Firefox 2.0.

No LCD TV with a curved screen in 2016. As the number of models with 3D support has been reduced. Only the representatives of one series can work with 3D content.

Some of 4K models will have dual tuner. This allows transmission when viewing recorded video from another channel on the hard drive connected to the USB port. In addition, Panasonic company provides integrated functions, such as "TV Anywhere" and "In-house TV Streaming". As the name implies, these functions allow you to watch live TV channels from the TV or recording on mobile devices outside the home, or on other TVs (with support for streaming) in the house (connected to the same Wi-Fi).
